Julie with Alma in SayulitaThe story of Alma

Alma was started by Julien Andres, yoga teacher and former chef and owner of La Medusa in Columbia City. During her time on yoga retreats in Mexico, she was inspired by the local people and their art. In 2012, she decided to start importing these unique wares to Seattle.

“The pieces I have traveled home with are one-of-a-kind, handmade bags, jewelry and fabrics. The colors are vibrant and alive. I chose Alma as the name of my company because it means soul or spirit. These pieces hold that unique spark.”

Julien has been bringing pop-up stores to Seattle for the holidays and will continue to curate her window display in Columbia City until Alma is fully brick-and-mortar. Until then, please contact us if you are interested in purchasing any of the pieces you see here or in the window.
